Hiawatha Bike Trail

I cant believe that it has already been almost a month ago since we left on our fun summer trip. I am just a tad slow about posting pictures. We have been way busy. Between soccer, piano, camping, floating the river in the drift boat, taking truck rides with dad, picking raspberries (thanks grandma Ball), huckelberries, peas, beans, there is not a whole lot of time left over. NOT to mention that "Breaking Dawn" came out last week and I finally let my self start reading it. So now nothing is getting accomplished. It is sad how into that book I am. I think Jaren is a little jealous. Just kidding who could be jealous of a vampire. Speaking of Jaren, we just celebrated our 12th anniversary. We went out on a hot date and had a bunch of fun. Thanks for all the Happy Anniversary calls girls. You guys never forget! Love ya! Back to our fun summer trip. Here are some pictures of our biking part of the trip. We started on the Hiawatha trail. It starts with a 2 mile long tunnel. You need to have a flash light to see anything and if you ever go bring gloves. My hands get pretty cold. Sandra, Sawyer and I are the only ones that went through the tunnel. Jaren drove over the mountain and met us. Then we hooked up the bike trailer and off we went. It is around 13-15 miles long. pretty fun. We then went on the paved trail in Mullen (I could be wrong on the name of the town) Sandra, Sawyer and I went down to Wallace and met up again with Jaren and the little boys. We walked around Wallace which is a cool little town and had some pizza. Then Sandra and I took off and met all the boys just past Kellog. Then that night we went to a campground on the lake in Harrison. The next day we got up and did around 15 more miles on the paved trail. The boys did most of the trail this day. We had a bunch of fun. After Harrison we headed to Libby MT to see Damon and Jessica. I will post that next. Enjoy the photos! Thanks for looking!

All Aboard!

On the second day of our trip, we road a train from Anaconda MT, to Butte, MT. It was called the Copper King Express. Keller was so excited that we were going on a train. When he saw that it was a diesel engine instead of a steam engine he was a little mifed but quickly got over it. It took around 2 hours to get 30 miles to Butte but we were living it up on an old train. When we got to Butte we walked up to the old town part of Butte. They were having their annual music festival. If you didn't have little kids to worry about it would be fun place to hang out for a weekend. They had stages set up all around the town with places to eat and yummy huckelberry smoothies that cost $6.00 each!! (overpriced but good Jaren and grandma said)The highlight was watching the train pull up to let us on and Keller got to announce "All abourd" once we got on the train. We had alot of fun.

Fairmont Hot Springs

Wow! Summer has a good 2 1/2 - 3 weeks left. Where has all the summer gone. Oh ya, we have been camping and tripping all summer long. Here is my proof! We left on a Saturday and went up the freeway to Del, MT (the old school house cafe brings back major childhood memories)up to Fairmont Hotsprings by Butte MT. We stayed 2 nights at the campground and went swimming and rode the train from Anaconda MT to Butte. The boys had alot of fun swimming and sliding on the water slide. When we first got to the pool, just before we stepped in Keller decides to pull down his suit and go pee! Of course he felt that was okay. He will be in the house and go outside to pee off the porch at home so why should a public pool be any different. Thanks to Grandma Ball she took him to the rest room and the pool water was again safe. We got the boys life jackets and they became little fish. Sawyer didn't need anyone to help him down the slide but Keller took a bit more coaxing. Finally Soy and Keller were going down just the town of them. They both keep asking when we get to go back to the water slide. Next the Hiawatha trail and the paved bike trails.
